With the inspiration for my work coming from so close to home, it's only fair I tell you a little bit about them.

Bob Budd

My grandfather is a huge inspiration for my work. During retirement he found his talents in art. He specializes in wood carvings and water color paintings. With his woodworking, he creates both decorative "wood spirits" and more functional pieces ranging from walking sticks to wooden bowls and candle holders. As far as his paintings go, Grandpa Budd meticulously recreates landscapes and photographs in water color. I always look forward to getting his new Christmas card every year.

As for me, I like creating something from nothing, or at least very little. Wood, and wood furniture in particular, is great because it allows a blank slate to be salvaged from something most people view as disposable. Wood can be transformed to look elegant, industrial, or rustic fairly easily to match any style.
